Position Summary
Job Title—Software Developer/Engineer Lead in Controllership Services
Deloitte & Touche’s Controllership market offering helps CFOs, CCOs, controllers, and business unit finance leaders reduce financial reporting risk resulting from changes in statutory reporting requirements, market volatility, and corporate actions or events; increase the financial integrity and transparency of cost allocations; enhance the efficiency of the “last mile of finance;” transform the finance function; and enhance the value that finance delivers to their business.
Work you will do
This role is highly focused on building the capabilities for our Controllership Innovation pillar where the individual will take part in multi-innovation initiatives. The Innovation pillar is the pioneer in building market offerings around a suite of Transformation services for the controllership function including Purpose Built Automation, Accounting Information Science, Analytics & Insights, Intelligent Automation and Finance Governance & Compliance.
In this role, the professional will be responsible for developing Product functionalities and enhancement suggested by the product owners/Project teams. He will work with other Developers and Product Managers throughout the software development life cycle. Responsibilities include:
• Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications and document software code
• Supervise other programming resources (note, however, that this is a line position primarily involving software development daily, not a full-time management position)
• Assist in the packaging and delivery of finished software products to clients
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Gather and evaluate user feedback
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Communicate with technical and business leaders on business requirements, system-related capabilities, programming progress, and enhancement status
• Help support software sales efforts through presentations for, and technical discussions with, clients and prospective clients
The Team: Controllership
Deloitte Advisory’s Controllership team helps organizations reduce risk and improve reporting capabilities to meet accounting and regulatory requirements, governance in complex operating models, and support for major business events and transactions. Controllership team provides an extensive range of financial accounting and reporting services with a comprehensive industry-focused approach.
Qualifications Required:
• Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role of at least 2 years
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. Python, Java Script) and frameworks/systems (e.g. Angular, Git, React)
• Experience with databases and ETL Tools (SQL, Alteryx etc.)
• Experience in visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI or Qlik
• Experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
