Software Development Engineer - Test (SDE-T)
About the Role
As a Software Development Engineer - Test (SDE-T), you will use technology to validate and verify software, collaborating with team members to determine the best software test techniques.
Your key responsibilities include extending and effectively applying existing automation frameworks for small to mid-size components and/or product features. You may create or improve existing test tools, turning defined designs into code and delivering them on schedule.
Key Skills
Proficiency in a broad range of data structures and algorithms, with knowledge of when to apply them appropriately.
Able to make implementation trade-off decisions, such as choosing between array and hash table solutions.
Familiarity with secure coding practices, ensuring minimal defects and stable, testable, maintainable code.
Experience with AWS and full-stack development.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of inherited code, producing, and testing it, assuming responsibility for its state.
Get designs, code, and test plans reviewed.
Thoroughly test code.
Classify, store, and handle data in accordance with Amazon policies.
Track risks and mitigate or escalate them in a timely manner.
Understand maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, and dependencies of team software, including hardware platform, operating system, and build dependencies.
Prevent bugs from causing customer pain.
Clearly document software to ensure future developers understand the intention behind test solutions.
Troubleshoot, research root causes of problems, and thoroughly resolve defects.
Take ownership of problems, propose solutions, and either take ownership for resolution or ensure a clear hand-off to the right owner.
Requirements
1-3 years of experience as an SDE.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
