Come join the Virtual Expert Platform team as a Software Engineer 2 to build an AI Driven Expert Platform. The vision is to create Intelligent, Scalable and Reusable Virtual Expert Platform Capabilities/Services that enable connecting customers with tax and bookkeeping experts in Intuit products like TurboTax and QuickBooks respectively. The Digital Expertise platform provides contextual and personalized help experience to customers of all Intuit products and platforms. We are looking for someone who can design, write, tune and operate highly available and performing modern software products.
What you'll bring
Qualifications
2+ years of experience developing web applications and web services using Java and JavaScript technologies and frameworks
Experience with Java using Spring Framework, Spring Boot
Experience with JavaScript and React framework
Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Working knowledge of Microservices architecture
Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with Cloud platform technology like AWS
BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
Outstanding partnership skills.
How you will lead
Responsibilities
Designing and developing web-based applications and backend services
Deep understanding of building highly available products using public cloud and cloud native technologies and services
Ability to debug and fix performance issues in the code and live environments
Design & configure performance metrics and monitoring with meaningful and actionable alerts
Identifying and resolving system bottlenecks by interpreting technical data
Proven ability to code review and identify bad code smells, particularly from a performance standpoint
Understanding of throughput, latency, client and server resource utilization, multi-threading, caching, and overall memory management
Commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers
Roughly 80-+0% hands-on coding
Provide perspective on leading industry trends, recommendations on new and emerging technologies, technology prototypes, patent proposals and engineering & DevOps process improvements
