Responsibilities
E+P products and services enable engineers to build out, deploy, manage, monitor, and secure Azure, Windows, and the rest of Microsoft
Additionally, E+P is responsible for several multibillion-dollar businesses of its own including Windows and Azure Monitor
You will work with a very talented and agile team of software developers that iterates fast and prioritizes delivering business value to customers
Develop highly reliable and available cloud services providing web APIs, UX and data that power business critical engineering systems
Develop metadata driven analytics solutions that help drive business insights and decisions for all software solutions from cloud services to native apps
Leverage data science and LLMs to extract actionable insights and remediations from live and historical data

Job description
Azure Edge+Platform [E+P] is responsible for Microsoft’s Operating Systems, IoT and Edge products, Engineering Systems, and Health Platforms that span cloud-to-edge and edge-to-cloud. E+P is the platform team for the company and the foundation upon which virtually every Microsoft product and service, like Azure, Xbox, HoloLens, Visual Studio, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams, is built. E+P products and services enable engineers to build out, deploy, manage, monitor, and secure Azure, Windows, and the rest of Microsoft. Engineering Systems [ES] is a team in Azure Edge+Platform that builds and operates the Engineering System for two of the largest businesses at Microsoft: Azure and Windows. We provide our engineers, who work on code ranging from Azure Services to Windows and Linux based products, with tools and services to empower them to deliver world-class quality and secure products, with efficiency and high developer productivity, in a fiscally responsible way. This in turn helps enable Microsoft to deliver more functionality, of higher quality, with better security, and do it faster and more economically.

We are hiring Software Engineer II with a bias for action and ability to think out of the box. You will work with a very talented and agile team of software developers that iterates fast and prioritizes delivering business value to customers.

• Develop highly reliable and available cloud services providing web APIs, UX and data that power business critical engineering systems

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience building scalable and highly available cloud services
• Experience in building React-based UX
• A customer centered mentality and experience in frontend and customer facing projects
• 3+ years of professional software development experience in Object-Oriented Programming language such as C# OR C++ OR Java, OR equivalent
• Good understanding of efficient data structures, algorithms, asynchronous programming, and high-performance data processing
