The Role
The CIO for Technology team is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our new AI Powered Engineering function dedicated to working with our global engineering community to use AI assisted tools and capabilities in ways that improve the engineering experience and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Write and maintain clean, efficient and testable code for product or system development under the guidance of senior team members.
Collaborate with peers and senior engineers during design discussions and code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Assist in maintaining and updating documentation for codebases, products or tools incorporating feedback from users and team members.
Support debugging and troubleshooting efforts by analysing system and product issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions with guidance as needed.
Conduct research and experimentation with AI assisted tools and provide feedback on their effectiveness in engineering workflows.
Participate in team meetings, planning sessions and ceremonies to contribute to squad progress and learning.
Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge of AI tools and emerging technologies, proactively seeking team mentorship and learning opportunities.
Requirements:
A strong foundation in software development, including knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
Passion to learn and explore AI driven tools and techniques to improve software development processes.
Commercial or side project experience in one or more of the following technologies: Anthropic Claude, Llama, LiteLLM, Cursor, windsurf/Codeium, Vercel, Continue, Aider, Cline, Langchain, Langgraph, Hugging Face.
Understanding of SDLC concepts and familiarity with coding standards, testing and debugging techniques, version control systems and agile tooling.
Solid programming skills in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript or C# with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
Basic understanding of API development and microservices.
Experience with database management systems and SQL language.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern Dev Sec Ops practices.
