Our goal: a place where all buyers in the renewable space (field engineers, procurement professionals, O&M professionals, etc), can find everything from consumables to highly technical parts and services across multiple sellers. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with specialization on backend software development. In this role you will design software solutions and develop code, write unit test cases that ensures quality and health of overall Covento Software System, ensuring ++.++ % availability. This role requires coding, design and systematic skills and will report directly to the Director of Technical Architecture of Covento and work closely with the Product Management Team, third-party development team, Buyer Engagement, & Seller Development to ensure quality software product development and best in class customer experience.
Responsibilities
• Design and develop backend software components for eCommerce B2B-Market
• Follow agile process, working in sprints together with rest of the team to deliver quality software components on time
• Ownership of software components, participate in code review process, coordinate unit test-driven development process
• Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills, participate in software upgrade process
• Design software technical architecture flows using design patterns
• Work closely with other development team, architecture team, testing team to ensure overall product quality
• Flexible and ability with work with partners across departments and outside, across different cultures
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience on Software Development, ideally using Azure / PHP Magento / Python / Golang
• Good understanding of common cloud providers - AWS, Azure and GCP
• Good working knowledge around Linux Systems, Apache 2.0, Nginx , Solr, RabbitMQ, Redis , other AMQP techniques, MySQL, REST APIs
• Ability to design solutions combining more than one software component
• Experience in at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, Python, Java, Go, Kotlin
Competencies
• Great at working cross-functional with different stakeholders at different organizational levels with the ability to work with limited to no supervision
• Solid experience for quality software systems and processes, with the balance of leveraging what exists and breaking and building new when it makes the most sense
• Has a good bias for action and ability to continually optimize in real time as software system evolves
• Values clarity and collaborations with peers and employees, ensuring success for the entire organization, not just for the individual or department
• Data-driven mindset. Always look for data upfront supporting the decisions and the design as well as design for that all solutions, no matter small or large, can be monitored after implementation
• Good communication skills - Fluency in English. A secondary fluency in Danish, Spanish, German, French, or Mandarin is beneficial
• Not afraid of taking and communicating difficult decision /setbacks to higher management to ensure software quality
