Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

The role is within Barclays Remediation Customer Services Portfolio where a number of sensitive and complex remediation programmes are at different stages of inception, build, testing and execution.
Oversight and planning for the technology required to support a major regulatory project. The programme supports over 300 users, predominately in London but with satellite offices in the UK. A dedicated team of over 30 staff are involved in delivering data, applications, training, business analysis, testing and support services directly to the programme.
Once established and bedded down the individual will have invaluable knowledge to effectively support a Product Engineer in delivery of work activities include but not limited to development & enhancement of workflow solution using MS SQL, ensuring data security, testing and troubleshooting databases, merging database information, and eliminating bugs. Expertise in MS SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, database tuning, performance improvements, teamwork, strong communication skills, multitasking, deployment process and time management.

What will you be doing?
• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
• Strong understanding of Software development lifecycle and Secure Code Development Advanced knowledge of SQL.
• Work with Tech lead and Business Analysts to clearly define and understand business requirements, development estimation and work plans for multiple internal enterprise projects.

 The individual will be adept at managing and influencing people inside and outside their own structure, influencing skills are particularly important in this role as the individual will be required to manage a virtual team and ensuring that all deliver what is required to ensure the team is successful

 Proactive/ self-starter/confident in setting direction and strategy for a team

 Have excellent planning, prioritisation, organisational and time management skills, there will be defined deadlines to hit to ensure that project end dates are achieved and there will be a key dependency on this individual to ensure their milestones are achieved
 This role would suit candidates that are comfortable thinking on their feet, understanding both strategic and tactical needs and their implications

What we’re looking for:

+ years of experience in database development in a banking and financial services.
 Proven working experience as a test analyst with MS-SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS.
 Strong knowledge and experience with MS SQL Server Database (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, SSIS etc), programming (XML or ETL frameworks), Data Warehousing.
 Well conversant in providing technical solutions, database fine tuning, performance improvement, providing estimation and should be able to justify the same with multiple stakeholders.
 Technical expertise regarding writing technical solution document, release plan, technical live proving plan,
 Strong knowledge and experience with reporting package MS SQL Server Database (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, SSIS etc), programming (XML or ETL frameworks), Data Warehousing.
 Adept at queries, report testing, writing SQL and presenting findings.
 Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills.
 Good quantitative skills to understand and deep dive into data sets as required
Experience in any of the source control tools

Skills that will help you in the role:

 Experience of working with either custom workflow solutions or commercial CRM/workflow solutions
 Comfortable working in a Scrum Master and or Product Owner capacity
 Comfortable working in a fast paced and challenging delivery environment with a strong focus on minimum viable product
 Experience delivering change and gaining consensus and momentum for change with multiple stakeholders from varied functions within a financial services organisation e.g. Legal, Compliance, Technology, Product, Finance, Origination, Operations
 Knowledge of Barclays Systems, Products and processes
 Embraces Barclays Values & Behaviours, acting as a role model to build a culture consistent with the Values
