Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in problem-solving and object-oriented programming (OOP) to join our startup team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our web-based applications, with a primary focus on backend development. You will create clean and efficient code, collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive our product vision, and integrate various tools and platforms with our software application Additionally, you will be responsible for migrating a few parts of our application from PHP to Node.js.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain software applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant technologies, with a primary focus on backend development.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following the best practices of OOP.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software products that meet customer needs.
• Solve complex technical problems related to software development, including debugging, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our web-based applications.
• Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Develop and maintain integrations with various tools and platforms, including but not limited to payment gateways, social media platforms, CRMs, and marketing automation tools.
• Create and maintain APIs, webhooks, and other integration methods to ensure seamless data flow between the software application and other tools and platforms.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to identify and prioritize integration requirements. Perform testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of the integrations.
• Document the integration process and create user guides and manuals for end-users.
• Migrate few parts of our application from PHP to Node.js, ensuring that the new code is efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify the areas of the application that can be migrated from PHP to Node.js.
• Develop and maintain the migration plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and testing strategies.
• Ensure that the migrated code meets the requirements and standards of the application.
• Continuously optimize the migrated code to ensure that it is efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that the migration process does not impact the performance and reliability of the application.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development using JavaScript, with strong proficiency in OOP concepts and design patterns.
• Familiarity with web development frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience working with databases, such as MySQL or MongoDB.
• Understanding of version control systems, such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for developing creative solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong understanding of API integration, webhooks, and other integration methods.
• Experience with third-party tools and services such as payment gateways, social media platforms, CRMs, and marketing automation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot integration issues.
• Familiarity in migrating applications , with a strong understanding of the differences between the two languages and their respective advantages and limitations.
• Familiarity with Node.js frameworks, such as Express, Hapi, socket.io,etc.
• Strong understanding of serverless architecture and cloud platforms, such as AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, or Azure Functions.
