Job Description
Essential/Fundamental Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing architectural designs for solutions to business problems.
• Support Product Managers and customers in understanding Exostar’s technology, products, and services.
• Assist in designing and developing collaboration solutions in Java, employing standard design patterns and development practices.
• The candidate will help with design reviews and code walkthroughs for small teams.
• Assist in presenting architectures and designs to Exostar’s customers and management team.
Education:
• Master’s degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
Qualifications/Experience:
• 0-3 years work experience in internet based application development environment.
• Strong OO knowledge
• Knowledge in designing multi-tier, highly available, multi-threaded, scalable architectures for large-scale web-based cloud services.
• Familiarity with Java-based application servers and Apache Tomcat servlet container.
• Hands-on experience with HTML5, Ajax and related frameworks (such as GWT) a plus.
• Demonstrated application of architectures and designs that employ design patterns
• Knowledge of and implementation experience with JCE are highly desirable.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
Related Skills:
• Knowledgeable of formal development and design methodologies such as UML and RUP.
• Familiarity with Source code control systems such as Bitbucket, SVN, ClearCase or Microsoft Visual SourceSafe.
• Familiarity with fundamentals of software configuration management, automated build processes, and source code control systems
