The opportunity:
OpenText is the market leader in Enterprise Information Management platforms and applications. As a Software Engineer you will utilize your knowledge and experience to perform systems analysis, research, maintenance, troubleshooting and other programming activities. You become a member of one of our Agile based project teams, focusing on product development. It is an exciting opportunity to design and implement solutions for enterprise level systems.
OpenText Business Network is a modern cloud platform that helps manage the full data lifecycle, from information capture and exchange to integration and governance.
Business Network solutions establish the necessary digital backbone for streamlined connectivity, secure collaboration, and real-time business intelligence across an expanding network of internal systems, cloud applications, trading partner systems and connected devices.
Responsibilities:
Meeting with the software development team to discuss project definitions and goals.
Analyze user and system requirements for the software product
Preparing high-level & low-level design documents and involve in development of software
Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
Participates in and drives design sessions in the team.
Writing excellent code following industry best practices.
Write efficient code based on feature specifications
Designing software database architecture
Testing and debugging software applications
Validating the functionality and security of the application.
Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports and customer escalations.
Perform the job with minimal assistance.
Development, deployment, and support in production.
Works with Quality Assurance to transfer knowledge and develop the test strategy and validate the test plan
Technical risk assessment, problem solving, early risk notification, report progress and status to manager and/or Scrum master.
Troubleshooting Production issues within the defined SLAs
What it takes:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 5-8 years of experience in software development.
Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in deadline driven environment and respond creatively to pressure.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical skills
Hands on expertise in OOPs, Java/J2EE
Experience working on any one Application servers (Tomcat, BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, JBoss)
Experience in Database design and strong knowledge of SQL/PLSQL
Experience in designing/development (design patterns) and testing of enterprise class systems.
Experience in UI design and development using technologies like Angular/React
Experience in Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate, RESTFul Services, microservices.
Strong communication skills - verbal, written and listening
Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
Desired Skills:
Experience in Hibernate, JSP/Servlets, JMS, XSLT, XML basics, XQuery, Kotlin
Experience in Solr/Zookeeper is an added advantage
Experience in Rest Security like OAuth, JWT will be an added advantage
