What you'll do
As a Software Engineer, you’ll design, develop and deploy applications that're capable of meeting and exceeding the anticipated load, performance and availability volumes, including load balancing, performance testing and benchmarking.
You’ll be working within a feature team and using your extensive experience to engineer software, scripts and tools that're often complex, while liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform.
Your top priorities will include:
Producing high-quality software to add value to our business
Working in permanent teams on the full life cycle, from initial development, through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning
Collaborating to optimise our software engineering capabilities
Designing, creating, testing and implementing our working code
Moving across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design, through coding to testing, deployment and operations
The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll have at least 10 years' experience in application development that involves IBM DataPower and experience of working on XG45 and XI52 boxes.
Alongside this, you'll have an understanding of XSLT, front side handling and security configurations at DP. You'll also have experience of developing SOAP and RESTful APIs for mobile applications.
Furthermore, you’ll need:
Experience of working with code repositories, bug tracking tools and wikis and designing and implementing APIs
Coding experience in multiple programming languages
An understanding of DevOps and Agile methodology and associated toolsets and methodologies
Knowledge of relational, in-memory, distributed and NoSQL databases
The ability to implement programming best practices around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
