What you'll do
Day-to-day, you’ll support a team of developers and set the technical direction of their deliveries, applying the principles and methodologies of software engineering to the technical design, development, testing and maintenance of applications and services.
We’ll look to you to oversee the work quality of your Software Engineering team, making sure that it meets the technical standards for all services output, while implementing a culture of concise and comprehensive technical documentation as a continuous process.
Your top priorities will include:
Supporting and monitoring the technical progress against plans, safeguarding functionality, scalability and performance and providing updates to stakeholders
Helping your team to understand relevant software languages and technical domains
Driving the adoption of software engineering principles, processes and best practices
Liaising with engineers, architects, business analysts and other key stakeholders to understand the objectives, requirements and options
Designing and developing high-volume, high-performance and high-availability applications by using proven frameworks and technologies
The skills you'll need
To be successful in this role, you'll have knowledge of CPE 5.x, IER 5.x, ICC 3.x and CMOD 10.x and the ability to develop code modules in Java, as well as custom apps in Java with integrated FileNet components.
Alongside this, you'll have an understanding of IBM FileNet CMIS products and SOAP and REST service-based architectures. You'll also have experience of using Bitbucket, Gitlab and the CI/CD pipeline in relation to the development project lifecycle.
Furthermore, you’ll demonstrate:
A background of implementing programming best practices, especially around scalability, availability and performance
Troubleshooting, analysing, impact analysis assessing and application designing skills
An understanding of microservices architectures and how to develop and deploy Spring Boot microservices
Development experience in a programming language
