The Institutional product group enables the foundations of Coinbase's institutional business supporting thousands of large financial institutions. We enable institutions to custody their digital assets and participate in the crypto economy in a secure and safe way. We take pride in building a scalable & secure crypto platform supporting hundreds of assets and enabling crypto participation with staking, governance and web3 gateways. The team has interesting work on building cutting-edge crypto technologies, scalable infrastructure and UI surfaces across web, mobile and browser extensions in a fast-paced industry with an opportunity to build several new initiatives.
The Institutional Financing Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the systems required to safely manage billions of dollars of loans across a number of different products, including Portfolio Margin, Trade Finance, Agency Lending, Bilateral Lending and more. Financing is incredibly important to the Prime Brokerage business because it allows customers to use leverage on their trading positions, as well as generate yield on long holdings. Financing products are important because they generate recurring revenue (as opposed to transaction revenue), but it also increases trading activity and encourages assets to be held on platform.
What you'll be doing:
Design and implement new financing products and features
Create and build new reporting, monitoring, tools, frameworks and APIs
Collaborate with engineers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible deliverables every quarter
Improving developer efficiency, engineering excellence, and operational excellence
Provide support to operations and other engineering teams
Mentor team members and help uplift the technical skill set across the team
What we look for in you:
You have at least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.
You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
You’re passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.
Nice to haves:
You’ve worked with some or all of: Golang, Postgres, Kafka, Protobuf, and React.
You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems.

$154,000—$154,000 CAD
