What will you enjoy in this role?
• We are looking for Software Engineer 2 to work on groundbreaking multichannel SaaS Digital Marketing Platform that focuses on uniquely identify the customer’s patterns, effectively interact with them across channels and achieve a positive return on marketing investment (ROMI).
• The platform helps consolidate and integrates the features and functionality typically found in stand-alone services and channel-specific messaging platforms to give marketers a tightly integrated, easily orchestrated, insights-driven, cross channel marketing capability.
• Primary role of the Software Engineer 2 is to envision and build internet scale services on Cloud using Java and distributed technologies.
What will you do?
As a L3 Engineer you will ensure that applications can be continuously released with high levels of confidence while also improving the scalability, reliability, quality and performance of the infrastructure and build systems. You will participate in the development and implementation of software delivery standards, policies, and procedures through automation. you will collaborate with Engineering teams, Engineering services team and customer team members on the practices, processes, and coding best practices. As a Level 2 resource, you are skilled and experienced at analyzing and resolving complex software configuration and infrastructure issues to maintain product integrity and overall stability of the platform. Most importantly, you are passionate about helping our team learn to build awesome every day, because that is just what we do.
Qualifications
• B.E/BCA/ MCA/M.Tech/ M.Sc in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 2- 5 years of experience in Java with Application or Production Support ,SQL Level 3/ Level 4 support with Scripting (Perl, Python or Shell)
• Handling L3 support
• Willing to work in Rotational Shifts 8 am to 5pm or 1pm or 10 pm
• Proficiency in JAVA/J2EE,, SQL DB, Oracle, and Unix/Linux.
• Work actively with team members to analyze and resolve application issues
• Identify defects, discrepancies, and trends by ways of code debugging or log analysis
• Manage incidents and effectively communicate with users, application owners and senior stakeholders across all areas.
• Understand the code flow and application functions.
• Correct the existing code if required which should be well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Knowledge with distributed data stores (like Hadoop, Hive, Cassandra) and Rest API. Identify alerts / processes that can be automated and then work with Customer Engineering team in automating them.
• Challenge existing application setup, processing and suggest different ways to solve problem or improve stability.
• Actively participate in Change management process with view to manage risk in production environment. Build and improve run books for generalists to minimize operational errors and gain fungibility/efficiency.
• Develop reports that provide trending statistics to track and manage application health and support service performance.
• Willing to learn and troubleshoot/support proprietary technologies not available through market place.
• Experience with Version Control Systems like SVN, GIT, TFS, etc..
• Results oriented and deadline driven.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge in Spark/Map Reduce jobs.
• Working experience with Cloud technologies (like AWS).
• Experience in managing large scale complex applications
• SRE experience is a plus
