The role of the Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer on the Asset Management team, you will be a key driver and enabler in a fundamental shift in how we manage technology assets throughout their lifecycle. You will be responsible for delivering an API first application to catalogue all technology assets as Maersk. Augmenting existing COTS data stores with open sources technologies, your team will be responsible for providing a single view of assets at Maersk.

The ideal candidate has experience as a developer delivering similar solutions.

You will work and collaborate with your team to deliver highly scalable and reliable product. You will contribute to a daily backlog of tasks to create new features, resolve bugs, or help run the product in more resilient way.

As a senior engineer, you will demonstrate the following characteristics: -

Key Responsibilities
• Delivering efficient, well-crafted code as part of the Asset Management product
• Participate in daily Agile routines
• Participate in proof-of-concept activities
• Contribute to documentation and team routines

Key Skills
• 5+ years of experience with Java/J2EE and the Spring framework developing large-scale applications.
• Experience analyzing, building, and implementing open source technologies..
• Experience with datastores (SQL, NOSQL, etc.) and event-based technologies (Kafka)
• Strong understanding of microservice based architectures and how to achieve composability.
• Demonstrable experience delivering rich APIs and integrating complex workflow and applications.
• Experience of Test-Driven Development approaches
• Experience delivering solutions that operate with large volumes of data and strict non-functional requirements around performance, flexibility, and scalability.
• Experience with several database systems, on-premises and on cloud.
• Experience delivering solutions leveraging at least two leading cloud platforms, one of which must be Azure, AWS or Google
• Experience writing test suites.
• Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production quality code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by excellent written and oral communication.
• Demonstrable high levels of integrity
