Where you fit in As a Software Engineer, you will be exposed to a wide variety of developers tooling in scope, including Azure DevOps, Slack, JIRA, Confluence, Trello, SonarQube and GitHub, Docker Desktop, and Inner source community. The team is always in motion to keep up with the latest technologies made available in the market, for which new service development (NSD) is done to make them available to Shell. These NSDs are done in a DevOps fashion, which brings the opportunity to be involved in developing new services to shape how Shell will adopt new technologies. What’s the role? Your role as a Software Engineer would include the following: • Partner with software developers to adopt and implement software engineering tools/services. • Focus on continuous improvement, automation, and simplification of services. • Assist in the development of new tools and services. • Take on software engineering platform development work from project scrum teams. • Collaborate with application development teams for use case build, delivery, and support. • Drive roadmap improvements for software engineering platform services. • Ensure platform security compliance and maintain close cooperation with stakeholders and users. Also responsible for day-to-day operations (incident, problem, change, and release management). What we need from you As a DevOps Engineer, you must have the following skills/requirements: • Proficient in Cloud Native Deployment with CI/CD Pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps. • Strong technical skills (Intermediate to Expert) in Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Atlassian tools, and Jenkins. • Strong coding skills in Python, Terraform, and YAML. • Expertise in Azure Services such as Azure Logic Apps, API Management, and Azure Functions. • Experience operating and managing Azure/AWS cloud environments. • Aptitude for learning new technologies and concepts. • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management, and ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment with multiple stakeholders, including business stakeholders, peers, and subordinates.
