The FD&V team provides subject matter expertise and assists users through live sessions, chats, text messages, email, online tutorials, chatbots, and other online tools and processes and by deploying new versions of engineering applications.
In addition to application support, this role includes project management activities to support the portfolio such as: leading meetings, liaison with vendors, tracking team tickets & issues, maintaining application portfolio records, and monitoring of software licenses and usage metrics.
Responsibilities
Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position:
• Provide second level IT support to end users for applications used in manufacturing at Ford. These are commercial off the shelf applications primarily from Autodesk (i.e. AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault)
• Manage user requests for application access and installation
• Testing and certification of new engineering software applications
• Coordinate software packaging requests for automated installation and testing for Ford Software Store
• Coordinate application deployment, license management and technical issues related to engineering facility CAD applications
• Work on special projects such as CAD drawing data migration to new systems
• Ensure that the solution and application supporting new/existing IT documentation and related records are maintained for accuracy
• Manage work activities using Agile tools such as Rally software
• Lead global user group meetings with internal customers regarding application updates, versions, and support issues
• Work with the technology suppliers to escalate Ford issues and resolution
• Work collaboratively with people across the organization in a global environment
• Provide application support for database management (Autodesk Vault)
• Customization of Autodesk application user profiles, menus, shortcuts
• Create monthly dashboards of team metrics that includes the number of tickets and new application installation requests, and users not closing applications
Understand and follow Ford processes / costs / and setup for application infrastructure & applications
