Job Description
Our Aggregation engineering group is seeking a Software Engineer to be part of a team responsible for developing new aggregation infrastructure. This infrastructure is critical to power various Lightcast products by acquiring and processing data from the internet. The ideal candidate should be a skilled and current practitioner who can collaborate effectively with the team and work closely with operations, product management, analysts, and other departments.
Responsibilities:
• Design, coding, testing and deployment of enterprise applications using Java and Python languages
• Database design, coding and maintenance - SQL
• Familiarity with software development methodology, engineering tools and release processes.
Requirements:
• 0 to 3 years of experience in industry
• Experience in working in global teams (geographically distributed teams working in different time zones) preferred.
• Highly motivated and able to passionately manage varying priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Good knowledge and experience in Agile development, Continuous Integration using TeamCity
• Familiarity of new tools and processes for our web scraping, database and data feed groups
• Excellent knowledge of Databases: RDBMS (SQL, MySQL) and NoSQL like Mango, Hadoop et al preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Familiarity with web scraping strategies and tools
• Familiar with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GIT
