Your role
Are you a versatile and passionate full-stack developer with a flair to enhance the overall developer experience and a knack for building scalable and user-friendly platforms? If so, we invite you to join our Developer Collaboration Tooling team as a Full-stack Developer and play a pivotal role in shaping our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) based on Backstage and integrating with the UBS Developer ecosystem.
We are looking for a dynamic IT software engineer to:
• Design, develop and maintain the core components of our IDP, ensuring its stability, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate our Platform with existing systems and tools.
• Implement UI / UX enhancements to improve the overall user experience of our platform.
• Champion the adoption of our platform among internal developers across the bank through training, documentation, and support.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our portal by identifying and implementing new features and enhancements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the developer experience space.
• be an agent of change by engaging and partnering with stakeholders across multiple lines of business.
Your team
You will be working in the GCTO function as part of Core Platform Engineering, and will be joining a newly formed team dedicated to shaping the future of our internal developer platform. Core Platform Engineering supports the tools and processes used by our development community, aligning them to our Cloud adoption agenda and driving the creation a dynamic developer/engineering experience. We are passionately working towards recognition of UBS as the "employer of choice" for technical talent in the Financial Services industry.
Your expertise
• Solid understanding of TypeScript and one or more other core programming languages and relevant frameworks (Java, Python, ReactJS etc.).
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, experience in Functional programming a plus.
• Experience with PostgresSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and other cloud-native infrastructure technologies preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Test automation skills
• Experience with Azure cloud services (or comparable cloud architectures) is a plus.
• UI / UX design skills are a plus.
• Ability to foster integrations across teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of UBS internal processes and its SDLC is a plus.
