Our Team
At Whatfix, we excel in providing guided assistance across three critical application layers: Desktop,Mobile, and Web. Our team specializes in the end-to-end Desktop DAP layer, a new venture initiated just two years ago. It’s a new product built from scratch and there is still a lot of engineering work going on which means a lot of learning. We currently have nine highly experienced engineers working on the desktop product who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovations.To date, our team has successfully filed six patents, and we have more in the pipeline. Every day, we tackle challenges that no other vendor or competitor in our industry has managed to solve. The unique aspect of our journey is that we're trailblazers, setting the standards, and paving the way for the entire industry.
Your Opportunity As part of the Desktop Engineering Team @Whatfix, you’ll have the opportunity to work on complex algorithms, automation APIs, system level APIs, performance engineering and difficult optimization problems. Every problem we solve on the desktop has the potential to be a patentable idea which is why we have so many patents in our hands. Being a part of the desktop team will give you this opportunity to work on complex problems and solutions that can potentially become patents. Programming language is not a barrier for the engineers in our team, we work on C#, javascript and Java fluently. Some of the solutions needed us to explore Machine learning and that's part of our core product now and is being used by many of our customers.
Key Responsibility:
1. Scope & Impact
• Independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of features including design, development,
and deployment.
2. Technical Execution
• Improves code structure and architecture in service of testability and maintainability.
• Writes, co-writes, and reviews design documentation.
• Is highly proficient in one or more technical areas
3. Ownership
• Prioritizes and values unowned or undesirable work that enables the team to move faster
4. Collaboration
• Works with their team and adjacent teams to solve problems. Escalates problems that have
a wider scope.
• Guide other teams in terms of making design choices who are going to touch the code
owned by this team.
5. Team Building
• Assists and teaches other engineers on an individual basis.
• Participates in the hiring process (meeting candidates, attending recruiting events,
presenting externally, or writing for Engineering blogs).
• Conduct engineering interviews.

Your Qualifications:
• An engineering degree BE/BTech/MTech in Computer science
• 5 to 12 Years experience in writing code and solving technical challenges.
Must-Have:
• We are looking for an E5/E6 level Software Engineer with good working knowledge of C#
and a decent hold on JavaScript
• Familiarity with building Desktop applications is a bonus and will be preferred.
• Engineering Degree from a reputed institute, typically with an experience of 5+ years in
• Coding, development & design.
• Hands-on Experience in building SaaS applications using technologies like Java, C# or Javascript.
• Work experience, preferably from SaaS companies, products, or startups.
• Testing developed features by writing unit tests & debugging issues reported by QA teams. Should be able to own the entire SDLC of a feature or product.
• Writing reusable code following industry standards & guidelines such as MVC pattern & SOLID principles
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams like product management, UX/UI designers, etc. to ensure timely delivery without compromising quality standards
• Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, System design and architectural principles.
• Ensuring quality assurance throughout all phases from conception through deployment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Fast Learner & a Team Player.
Good to Have:
• Experience with ReactJS, Swift, or Objective C.
