What you can expect
As a Software Engineer in Security Engineering, you'll play a key role in designing and building highly scalable, globally distributed security infrastructure at Zoom. You'll contribute to the end-to-end encryption (E2EE) system, ensuring millions of users worldwide can communicate securely.
About the Team
With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.
Responsibilities
- Building and optimizing large-scale distributed systems that power Zoom's security features.
- Building and maintaining server components for Zoom's E2EE system, as described in our white paper.
- Working with Go, SQL databases, and cloud infrastructure to develop secure, high-performance services.
- Collaborating closely with security engineers, cryptographers, and cross-functional teams to enhance security protocols and design new solutions.
- Solving complex security challenges, ensuring Zoom's platform remains resilient, scalable, and secure for all user
What we're looking for
- Have experience in building and maintaining distributed systems.
- Have expertise in the Go programming language
- Possess skills in SQL database technologies.
- Have knowledge of scalability, performance tuning, and cloud infrastructure.
- Possess a deep understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Have experience with cryptography and cryptographic protocols.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$+8 +00,00
Maximum:
$228 700,00
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
