The Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Frontend) to help shape the future of AI-powered interfaces in the care sector. You’ll work closely with our product team to build accessible, performant, and user-friendly experiences across web and mobile applications.
What You’ll Do
Develop high-quality frontends using React (Next.js) and React Native, ensuring responsive, accessible, and intuitive user experiences.
Work with AI-powered interfaces, integrating Vercel AI SDK and LLMs to create context-aware, generative UIs.
Optimise for real-time interactions, particularly in audio-based experiences (speech-to-speech interfaces, real-time transcription, etc.).
Collaborate on design and UX, ensuring accessibility (WCAG), responsiveness, and usability remain a core focus.
Implement frontend best practices, including performance optimisations, state management, and API integrations.
Contribute to our Design System, ensuring UI consistency and scalability across the Minikai platform.
Who You Are
Experience building production-grade applications in React, Next.js, and React Native.
Strong design sense, with an eye for UX, accessibility, and responsive UI.
Familiarity with real-time audio and WebRTC (or willingness to learn).
Comfortable working with LLMs and AI-powered UIs (experience with Vercel AI SDK a plus).
Strong understanding of modern frontend tooling (e.g., TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Zustand/Recoil, WebSockets).
Experience working in a microservices-based architecture.
Familiar with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and performance optimisations for frontend applications.
Bonus Points
Experience building agentic workflows or generative UI components.
Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure.
Contributions to open-source projects in frontend or AI.
Experience working in regulated industries (healthcare, aged care, disability support).
