SALARY: £78,84+ - £87,610
LOCATION(S): London
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our London office(s).
About This Opportunity
The overall vision within the Finance Platform is to promote value for our customers, colleagues and partners. We're looking for Software Engineers with a strong data mindset to help develop the new end-to-end target state strategic data journey within the bank, working with multiple stakeholders across both Finance and the wider group.
Your role will be part of a cross-disciplinary team in addition to being a highly experienced member of our wider Lloyds engineering team. As part of these teams, our Engineers are encouraged to demonstrate and apply exemplary software engineering approaches, whilst working in a collaborative and agile environment. You'll learn new skills, technologies and approaches to software development as well as benefiting from a culture that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and provides opportunities for flexible working.
Our new Engineer will help our platform deliver business value through fully rounded engineering methods and technologies, ensuring platforms and software are built consistently with relevant patterns and practices. They will be able to continually develop themselves with industry standard methodology and tooling used across their engineering teams. They will also help us strive towards a new data-centric strategy and take existing and new applications forward into the future data models.

More about the role
As a data focused Software Engineer in the Finance Data team, you will be working with various stakeholders in the development of a new Finance data model, predominantly working with Business/Data Analysts who will be defining both data mapping and downstream consumption and integration requirements.
We're looking for someone who has
• Understanding of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes
• Understanding of the end-to-end system development lifecycle
• Understanding of Enterprise Data Model concepts (e.g. BIAN)
• Understanding of Domain level Data Models (preferably Finance) and Reference Data application/mappings
• Understanding of Data Model integration with upstream/downstream tooling
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platform experience with core components
• Proficiency in SQL with ability to write complex queries to include joins, subqueries and functions
• Proficiency in at least one programming language e.g. Python, Java, Jinja
• Understanding of deployment/data pipelines and code management integration
• Understanding of DevOps and Automation principles
• Strong requirement translation skills
• Good communicator working with multiple stakeholder profiles
• Good management skills when working on multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
• Have the confidence to constructively challenge decisions when relevant
• Demonstrates similar values and behaviours to our Group's, and encourages this in team members
