Our Partner (JHT), is one of the largest fitness equipment manufacturers in the world. The company manufactures a wide assortment of fitness equipment for both commercial and residential use, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, exercise bikes and strength training equipment. Our Partner North America, headquarters is based in Cottage Grove, WI. Taiwan, with global product development, marketing and engineering based in Cottage Grove, Wis. The Software Engineer I, you will be involved in the development of software for fitness consoles with global R&D teams. You will also help to develop clear requirements, improve software quality, and help maintain industry standard software practices. Additionally, you will participate in writing code for UI, machine control, and Unit and Instrumentation Tests. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop applications using modern web development stacks and upgrade constantly. Will implement scalable applications that meet business requirements and can be distributed globally. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements. Participate in the technical design of new applications and make sure the documentation requirements are met. Be a self-managing, full participant in cross-functional agile teams: define tasks and assignments and complete them by committed dates and timelines and help teammates do the same. Should incrementally deliver applications as part of an Agile software development team SKILLS / COMPETENCIES A minimum of 2-3 years experience in Java and Kotlin. Should have 1 year of experience in UI based application development, preferably Android studio. Experience in JavaScript and APIs is desirable. Hands-on experience with built-in and integration unit testing. Experience writing or editing technical documentation. Experience in project sustaining or inheritance Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related field. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure understanding of requirements. Strong software engineering and general problem-solving skills. Should have good judgement and decision making skills; responsible and motivated; passionate about learning new things.
