As a Software Engineer II - AWS Cloud Engineer + Java at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Team, you will serve as a member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectivesOrganization Description
Job Responsibilities
• Deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native micro-services architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices.
• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Support the products you've built through their entire life cycle, including production and incident management
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
• Technically curious, versatile and solution oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
• Excellent architecture knowledge. Capable of design solutions meeting scalability, reliability and security requirements.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Working hands on experience in AWS cloud platform.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment within a diverse, inclusive and geographically distributed team
• Understanding of relational databases
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security)
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Good writing skills, capable of producing supporting documentation.
• Understanding of messaging frameworks (Kafka, Rabbit MQ, etc.)
• Understanding of distributed systems and micro-services architecture
• AWS/CKAD Certified
• Proficient in coding in any programming language Java/Python preferred
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office suite – particularly MS Excel.
