Your role
Are you a passionate coder who loves solving problems and is driven by challenge? Can you navigate complex code to transform and simplify? Do you have the ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate a problem? Then you may be the one we are looking for who can:
• write and test product development code
• apply core and advanced concepts to develop business solutions
• participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide architecture
• review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
• triage product or platform issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
• challenge vague requirements to gain clarity and avoid costly assumptions
Your team
In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client's needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods.
You will be part of Collateral Operations crew within Investment Banking division in Pune. We own the platform responsible for calculating exposure, issuing margin calls and booking and settlement of collateral to mitigate credit risk to UBS. We are responsible for feature development, modernization and transformation of the platform, amongst other things.
The crew is spread across multiple locations India, Poland, UK US & Singapore, with majority presence in India (Pune) and Poland (Krakow), most of the pods are co-located.
Your expertise
Minimum requirements
• sound understanding with ability to apply core and advanced Java concepts
• proven track record of enterprise level application development for 8+ years
• familiarity with at least one Version Control System, preferably Git
• extensive experience of writing unit tests
• ability to write intermediate level SQL queries
• excellent communication and problem solving skills
Desirable
• experience in Financial services industry and
understanding of financial projects
• experience with Agile mode of working
• familiarity with Cloud based technologies
• practical experience in Java performance tuning
• familiarity with Devops
