This role will be responsible for all aspects of software development, testing, and ensuring compatibility with enterprise and solutions architecture by harnessing modern development technologies
Your Team:
The Alpha Gen Technology group (AGT) helps BlackRock investment teams deliver market-leading performance (alpha) to their clients. We work with investment researchers to develop predictive signals and strategies that are traded on BlackRock hedge funds and other active portfolios. The services we provide range from: quantitative library development, model engineering, alpha platform development, and investment technology R&D. People in the team are based in London, Budapest, Mumbai, San Francisco and Sydney. AGT’s Investment partners include Active Equity, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset Strategies, Sustainability Strategies, and the Risk and Quantitative Analytics Team. AGT is part of BlackRock’s Aladdin Product Group (APG). Aladdin is an investment platform as a service that is used to manage more than $15 trillion by clients of Aladdin.
Your role and impact:
AGT DevOps, part of wider AGT team, based in Mumbai works closely with researchers and data engineers to ensure the smooth running of Alpha Gen processes in production. To achieve that the team understands well these processes, the data they use, the architecture they run on and their stakeholders in AGT Alpha Gen and Investor teams. Adopting and incorporating new major enhancements into an existing process is another capability that defines the team’s success
Your responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain AlphaGen platform with a focus on reducing production issues and streamlining of processes.
• Help build the next generation of the leading world-class investment platform
• Contribute to team's work queue working with developers, users, and leads
• Apply quality software engineering practices through all phases of development and into production
• Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment.
• Implement processes to automate and streamline development, support and technical management
You have:
• 3 – 5 years of a strong background in software engineering with any languages like Python, Java etc.
• B.E./ B.Tech or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
• An interest in finance, investment or quantitative processes
• Some experience with SQL or unstructured data
• Experience with Cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure is a plus
• Good interpersonal skills
