WHAT YOU'LL DO
The CMS and Digital Enablement squad at BCG is seeking a candidate for a Software Engineer role to be an integral part of our agile team We are seeking a candidate for a Front-End Developer role as an integral part of an agile team. The incumbent for this role will help architect and implement technical solutions across the full suite of BCG’s marketing systems, targeting internal and external audiences. The candidate will also help maintain and improve existing web properties and build new ones using a variety of CSS and JavaScript libraries and frameworks. He/She must be open-minded and interested in continuous learning, curious and unafraid to ask questions. The ideal candidate must be willing to innovate and initiate change, discover new solutions and present new ideas. He/She must work well in a global team environment and collaborate well with peers and stakeholders.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
This position will involve daily collaboration with the architect and other development teams, vendors, stakeholders, and users throughout Agile design, development, implementation, and operations of infrastructure and business mappings. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Strong analytical abilities and creative problem solving
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript object-oriented programming using front-end frameworks such as VueJS, Angular or React to develop and support component-based architecture
• Experience with development tools like Node.js, CSS pre-processors, REST API, Git
• Experience with development in a CMS environment
• Experience with development build tools including NPM, Webpack or Grunt
• HTML5, CSS3 development skills with an emphasis on multi-browser compatibility
• Strong expertise in debugging and troubleshooting web applications
• Developed projects utilizing responsive design using grid frameworks to support multiple platforms including desktop, tablet and mobile
• Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams
• Experience with test driven development, continuous integration and Agile practices is a plus
• Familiarity building enterprise class front-end applications
• Experience with using various distributed caching solutions
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Subversion
• Experience with ticketing systems like JIRA
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
• Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and stakeholders
• BS/BA degree, preferably in computer science or a related field
• Experience with CICD Tools and Platforms
• Solid knowledge of technical web architectures (hosting, security, database, CMS, CDN)
• Strong experience developing standards-compliant Web applications using front-end Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, JSON, XML/XSL, etc.
• Experience with development in a CMS environment
• Strong expertise in debugging and troubleshooting web applications
• Experience in all aspects of Agile SDLC, and end-to-end participation in a project lifecycle
• Experience with RESTful Web Services
