Software Engineer II, RELX India
Locations: Chennai/Bangalore/Mumbai/Gurgaon
Time type: Full time
About the Role:
• The Senior Software Engineer position performs moderately difficult research, design, software development assignments and maintenance of LexisNexis Risk Solutions enterprise web applications.
• This position requires an experienced engineer capable of operating with minimal supervision, ability to work on individual pieces of code and solve problems including the design and program flow utilizing effective coding techniques and rigorous unit testing. In addition, the ability to be productive in a fast-paced environment is essential, as is the ability to mentor the junior developers when needed.
About the Team:
Generally, the team is form in Squad where each squad consist of Squad Lead, Business Analyst, Dev lead, Developers and Testers. This Squad structure provides more connectivity among team members and allows us to deliver faster as all resources work as one group on dedicated tasks.
Required Skills
• 3 to 5 Years of Experience with Java 8 and above.
• Must have Proficiency in Java 8
• Must have experience of Spring mainly with Spring Core, Spring
• MVC and Hibernate (Spring Boot is Good to have)
• Must have experience with Web Services/Application development
• Proficiency in web development (jQuery preferred)
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries and stored procedures (Oracle or MySQL preferred)
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jira and other CI/CD tools
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Basic knowledge of data manipulation languages.
• Basic understanding of data modeling principles.
• Knowledge of data storage subsystems.
• Basic knowledge of applicable development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
• Knowledge of test-driven development.
• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
• Basic oral and written communications skills.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of simple complexity.
• Complete simple bug fixes.
• Under the guidance of senior-level engineers, successfully implement development processes, coding best practices and code reviews.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolve basic technical issues as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technological developments.
• All other duties as assigned.
