POSITION: Software Engineer R&D
We are looking for a highly skilled software engineer with deep expertise in Qt, C++, and QML, who can also guide and manage a small development team. This role combines hands-on development with coordination responsibilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Management: Supervise a small team of engineers, set priorities, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
• Technical Direction: Define and maintain high standards in software architecture, design, and development with a strong emphasis on Qt QML and modern C++.
• Development: Remain hands-on with coding tasks; develop core components, prototypes, and modules alongside your team.
• Project Management: Own the software development lifecycle, including planning, tracking progress, and aligning technical execution with business goals.
• Code Quality: Drive quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration practices.
• Mentorship: Act as the go-to technical expert and mentor, helping team members grow in skills and confidence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with stakeholders from product, hardware, Quality, Sales and Service teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Process Improvement: Proactively improve development workflows, tooling, and practices for team efficiency and codebase health.
• Customer & Vendor Interaction: Represent the software team in discussions with customers and vendors—translating requirements, addressing technical concerns, and managing expectations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Performance Reviews: Conduct regular 1:1s, provide feedback, and lead formal performance evaluations for your team, ensuring growth and accountability.
• Budgeting & Planning: Work with senior management to plan and manage budgets for tools, resources, and licenses.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science (BE/ B.TECH/ ME/ M.TECH/MCA)
• 6+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years managing or coordinating a team.
• Proficiency in Qt Framework, including QML.
• Strong command of C++ (modern standards: C++11 and above).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), issue tracking (e.g., Jira), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Desirable: Experience with Android, Python, or Java.
