Join Leidos' High Fidelity Simulation Business Area, a leader in providing advanced system-of-systems solutions to the U.S. Navy. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies to develop sophisticated sonar tactical decision aids (TDAs) that directly enhance Fleet operations and bolster national security.
Based at a U.S. Government facility in Bethesda, MD, you'll collaborate with a team of accomplished engineers dedicated to making a tangible impact through meaningful work while continuously building new skills for career advancement.
What You'll Work On
• Develop and enhance Tactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems, focusing on sonar TDAs across various code baselines.
• Troubleshoot and solve complex software challenges, delivering innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Learn and utilize new programming languages and technologies with support and mentorship from experienced colleagues.
• Assist with hardware system configuration and build-out, gaining valuable experience in full system integration.

Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate within an agile team environment supporting a large-scale program.
• Deliver software solutions using Java, C++, and other modern programming languages.
• Learn and implement new technologies (such as Angular, Rust, Scala) to adapt to evolving demands.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with effective and efficient solutions.
• Quickly adapt to shifting priorities and provide support for urgent requests as needed.
• Communicate effectively with teammates, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure project alignment.
• Occasional travel to Manassas, VA for integration and team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in developing and enhancing production applications in Java and/or C++. A strong emphasis on working with existing codebases is essential.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and enterprise integration patterns (e.g., SOAP services, XML/JSON messaging, WSDL, message queues) is preferable.
• Familiarity with modernizing or integrating systems, including refactoring and performance tuning of existing applications.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field providing strong software development skills.
• Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Certification: Willingness to earn an IAT Level I (or higher) certification after hiring, supported by the company.

The anticipated pay range for this position is between $69,550.00 and $125,725.00. This range is a guideline and does not guarantee compensation; actual offer may vary based on qualifications and experience.
