Job Description –Software Engineer, Test

What this role is:
As a Software Developer in Test, you will be designing test strategies for new features developed for our ever-growing Genesys Cloud Platform. You will be contributing to the testing effort as a member of a cross functional team including Product Management, Development, UX, and Documentation. Responsibilities include understanding the architecture and design decisions, defining, and implementing new tests, evaluating the end user experience, and asserting the overall quality of the feature.
What this role isn’t:
It is not just executing tests or maintenance of test jobs and pipelines. This isn’t a pure automation role, but one focused on a holistic approach to quality: manual, automated, accessibility, security, performance, scalability. This isn’t a narrowly focused role on one service and one team, but an opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams distributed across the globe.
What you’ll bring to the table:
We are looking for someone who is strong technically, but also a skilled communicator . You’ll coordinate with talented peers to identify risks and design test solutions to mitigate them. After learning our product and process, you will contribute code to a shared automated testing project that includes tests executed daily and in multiple deployment pipelines.
Some details about what you’ll do:
• Design and implement efficient Testing practices
• Participate in Planning meetings and ensure quality at all levels of SDLC
• Provide Testing and Automation Strategy for newly developed Features
• Develop test plans, test environment and test scenarios for new product features
• Write Mobile app automated tests , API as well as UI
• Maintenance of existing automation tests
• Conduct Test plan and Code reviews to ensure the quality of Test Cases, Test coverage and Automation Code
• Increase Automation confidence by reducing random test failures
• Work in an agile team along with developers
• Identify QA Risk and Mitigation Plans and ensure product delivery as per the release timeline
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Should have 3-6 years of IT experience in software test automation
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Should be a good team player who enjoys collaborating with others
Required Skills:
Should have experience in mobile automation testing using Appium.
Strong skills on testing mobile apps[Android or iOS] on mobile testing platforms like BrowserStack, Saucelabs.
Experience in Java or Kotlin.
Experience with Git/Git Hub or other version control tools
Hands on knowledge in Build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
Working knowledge in Selenium and Web UI testing framework like TestNG, JUnit etc
Desirable Skills:
Experience in AWS tools
Working knowledge in API test automation.
Experience in developing Continuous Integration pipelines (CI/CD) using Jenkins
