Software Engineer(DBMS)

Job Description: Description To be responsible for designing and developing IT products, particularly to be responsible for the design and implementation of API services used inside the Core ELEC system for Aircraft electrical data. He/she builds/assembles high-quality code on both COTS and custom built applications to fulfill a defined purpose. Keeps up-to-date with new and emerging technologies including ability to autonomously develop POCs. Possesses a good knowledge of Full Stack development and has the agility to transition between front/back end technologies. The jobholder engages in all phases of the product development (DevOps mind-set) to keep the Airbus IT landscape running smoothly, reliably, and efficiently. Qualification & Experience Engineering graduate (preferably in Computer Science) with 3-5 years of experience in database development, maintenance & administration At least 3 years of experience in the area of product development using PostgreSQL, Node.js, JavaScript. Strong understand of relational databases along with NoSQL and Graph database technologies Ability to quickly adapt existing Schema/Database Design and also come up with Schema/Database Design when required Experience in designing & implementing application database architecture Thorough knowledge of writing, modifying and optimizing complex database queries. Hands -on with writing complex SQL scripts, user-defined functions, and stored procedures. Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Experience working in a Unix/Linux/Windows environment and developing shell scripts Strong knowledge of source code version control using Git Knowledge of SAFe agile methodology and workflow, preferably using VersionOne/JIRA 12) Ability to collaborate with a diversity of customer's teams to address important issues and to resolve them Experienced in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, adaption and learning of the business processes speak of the customer especially around Aircraft electrical data management. Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong work ethic. Experienced in working within a product delivery lifecycle, Agile/scrum experience in software development (plu s) Good to have: Data Modelling as per UML standards Github / Confluence Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS, AWS APIs and services Hands-on experience on Node.js full stack based applications UNIX shell scripting (for operational activities) Environment: Windows operating system (Development environment) Linux operating system (Server) Visual Studio.NET Git (Source Code Repository) Jenkins (Continuous build Integration solution) Responsibilities: Design, create, test and document PostgreSQL databases, tables and procedures to store data model Design & implement application database architecture Develop and implement complex SQL scripts, functions, and stored procedures to support application development and data management needs. Perform data modelling, ensuring efficient and scalable database designs. Monitor database health, performance, and resource utilization, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues. Implement and manage performance tuning and optimization strategies to ensure optimal database responsiveness. Analyse, debug, and resolve real-time production database issues effectively and efficiently. Conduct code reviews of database scripts and provide constructive feedback. Perform database deployment processes, ensuring smooth and reliable releases. Work with cross functional teams, resolving data or/and database related issues - Produce high quality, well tested and documented source code Work as part of an agile team inside the SAFe methodology Works closely with customers inline with Agile Scrum/DevOps ways of working (e.g. gathering requirements, creating technical specifications and architecture documents, creating good documentation, managing a project timeline) Design & Implement highly available, scalable, maintainable, monitored systems and services Manages the adoption of tooling and industry best practices among development teams - Assist in development of product user manuals.
