Software Engineering Manager Opportunity with a Cutting-Edge Bio-Pharmaceutical Company
A next generational bio-pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager. The company is looking for a leader to drive the development of cutting-edge data pipelines, machine learning models, and innovative products that fuel groundbreaking bio-pharmaceutical discoveries.
In this role, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading engineers in areas such as ML Ops, Data Engineering, Scientific Applications Engineering, and Technical Operations. Reporting to the CTO and working closely with senior leadership, the Engineering Manager will define and execute the company’s software strategy while contributing to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities Include:
• Defining and driving the software strategy and roadmap in collaboration with the CTO.
• Leading and mentoring a team of Software and Data Engineers, ensuring their performance, development, and motivation.
• Managing engineering projects from planning to delivery, ensuring technical, timeline, and budgetary goals are met.
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement across software, architecture, processes, and workflows.
• Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent to support the company’s growth.
Desired Qualifications:
• Proven experience leading engineering teams with 5-10 direct reports.
• Strong foundation in software engineering, software design, and architecture.
• Experience in product and project management, including setting roadmaps and driving execution.
• An empathetic leadership style with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Experience in a multi-disciplinary setting, ideally in life sciences, biotech, or pharma.
• Ability to partner with executive stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business objectives.
