The role with us
The primary focus of this role is to provide software engineering technical expertise for our IT applications.
As a technical expert in the team, the role:
• Works with the Capability/ Engineering Team Lead and other team members to craft solutions that meet the strategic goals of the capability.
• Create technical components as designed by the solution engineer. However, applies intelligence, and works with the solution engineer to change designs if there is a better solution. May take on solution engineering role as required.
• Assists other team members in creation of technical components
What you'll work on
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the success of the business capability domain-based organisation model that underpins Telstra's IT Strategy where persistent cross functional teams continuously innovate their domain capability with rapid time to value and high re-usability. This is the core to Telstra's digitisation strategy delivering new digital customer and employee experiences leveraging new digital platforms and new ways of working. This role is an essential part of the capability domain, having domain knowledge and technical knowledge, building the systems that have been designed.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy products and services produced by the team. Continually develops capability both against current demand and the technology/business capability roadmaps provided Review and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Continually improve technologies used by the team to deliver products and services to our customers. Implement all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Apply engineering best practices such as Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps as part of high performing software engineering teams to deliver products and services to our customers. Provide production support in the production and pre-production environments assisted by all team members. This responsibility is equally shared by all members of the team.
About you
To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in: -
Essential
• A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in Portal and Mobile application development with SAP Platforms.
• Should have Strong knowledge in front end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and ODATA2.0. Should have expertise in software development & programming using HTML5, JavaScript, Node.js, SAPUI5 and Fiori
• Experience in developing SAP Cloud Platform based applications is a plus
• Must have experience in Fiori apps implementation including configurations
• Build Custom Fiori and extend Fiori applications using SAP Cloud Platform and eclipse
• Experience working with SAP Web IDE and different http services integration like REST/Web service
• Must have experience in Fiori Design patterns, UI Theme designer and Fiori Launchpad configurations and database experience with SAP or S/4 HANA
• Should be able to provide techno-functional support on SAP UI/UX functionality (SAP Fiori) Assist in the integration of front-end UI/UX components with back-end technical and application components to meet business requirements
Highly desirable
• Experience in development/coding of "Unit Test Automation"
• Able to proactively identify Integration issues and fix it via design re-engineering, better solution
• Able to work on code coverage/code quality improvements
• Able to work proactively designing of User interface and user interface messages for end user
• Ability to demonstrate learn fast
• Domain knowledge of Telecom Domain
• Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering.
• Understanding & exposure on AZURE cloud
• Experience with code analysis and test
• Hands on experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines will be an added advantage.
• Exposure on monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, New relic, Splunk and Pager duty Experience in DevOps environment would be an added advantage.
