Job Description
You will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test frameworks across API, GUI, performance, functional, and end-to-end workflows. Experience with Katalon Studio (working with desktop applications required) and the integration of AI into QA processes is essential.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring scripting, programming, debugging, and collaboration across development and product teams.
Required Qualifications
Candidates based in the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area is preferred for a hybrid office / remote role. Remote candidates located within the United States will also be considered.
Experience
• 3-5 years of professional software QA experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with Katalon Studio
• Both Automated and Manual testing of Windows desktop applications is required
Testing Expertise - Strong experience in:
• API testing
• GUI testing
• Performance testing
• End-to-End (E2E) testing
Functional testing - Experience in:
• Test case design, development, execution, maintenance, and analysis
• Both automated and manual test methodologies
Programming & Scripting
• Proficiency in shell scripting
• Proficiency in Java and/or Groovy
• Proficiency in C# and/or C++
Tools & Platforms
• Jira for test tracking and defect management
• Postman for API validation
• Git / Bitbucket for version control
• Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice to Have
• IBM Mainframe Experience
• JCL
• COBOL
• IMS
• CICS
• z/OS
• Experience using AI tools within QA workflows (e.g., AI-assisted test generation, coverage analysis, defect triage)
Additional Skills
• Test architecture design and framework development
• Technical documentation (test plans, QA coverage maps, automation design documents)
• Experience building regression suites and managing execution metrics
• Performance/load testing tools experience
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Katalon Studio for desktop applications.
• Develop and execute test strategies across desktop, API, and integrated systems
• Create and maintain automated regression suites
• Collaborate with developers during feature design and implementation
• Analyze defects and drive root cause investigations
• Maintain traceability between requirements, user stories, and test artifacts
• Contribute to test architecture and long-term QA strategy
• Produce and maintain clear QA documentation including test plans, coverage maps, and automation design documents.
