Salt has partnered with a key leader in technology within the financial services sector in Australia. Now looking for Senior Software Testing Engineers to join the Sydney based team. This opportunity is open to candidates currently based interstate, that are seeking a new opportunity and move to Sydney, New South Wales.
The Senior Software Testing Engineer plays a key role in maintaining the quality of software and applications. This includes developing and managing automated test scripts, identifying and resolving production issues, and working closely with different teams to tackle complex business challenges. The position is focused on enabling engineers to deliver more efficiently and consistently while ensuring customers have access to secure and reliable financial solutions.
The Senior Software Engineers in Test will have proficiency in TypeScript, automated testing strategies, testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows.
Key responsibilities:
• Write and maintain TypeScript automation tests using Playwright, ensuring all code is secure and well-tested.
• Build and improve testing strategies, including automation and some manual acceptance testing, while designing a test platform for all engineering teams.
• Monitor applications in production, analyze root causes of issues, and implement fixes.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, integrate tests into builds, and adopt new coding practices and standards.
• Mentor engineers in performance, reliability, and scalability testing, while promoting a culture of automation and quality.
Key skills and Experience:
• 5+ years in testing and automation, with skills in automated testing with TypeScript, Node.js, and frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium.
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, EC2, EKS, etc.), CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and cloud-based test platforms like BrowserStack.
• Strong knowledge of OWASP security principles and testing methodologies like TDD.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases (Postgres) and API testing tools such as Postman, Newman, and SOAP UI.
• Familiarity with contract testing, microservices, web accessibility testing, and performance/reliability testing.
