Job Description
A Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by designing, developing, and executing tests. They identify, document, and track defects, and work with development teams to resolve them. They also collaborate on improving the software development process and staying updated on testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Test Planning and Execution:
Designing and implementing test strategies, test plans, and test cases, both manual and automated, to verify software functionality and performance against requirements.
• Defect Management:
Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects, and working with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve them.
• Collaboration:
Working closely with software developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure the software meets quality standards.
• Test Automation:
Developing and maintaining automated test scripts to increase testing efficiency and coverage.
• Quality Assurance:
Ensuring the software meets functional, performance, security, and usability requirements.
• Process Improvement:
Contributing to the improvement of the software development lifecycle by suggesting and implementing better testing processes and methodologies.
• Staying Updated:
Keeping up-to-date with the latest testing tools, techniques, and best practices.
Skills Required:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in testing methodologies and techniques (e.g., functional, performance, regression, security).
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and best practices.

• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.
