Salary range $165,865.00 - $169,865.00 pa (plus superannuation and leave loading)

About the role
Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Walama team to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources and delivery of high-quality culturally appropriate services that meet the needs of clients and the community. Develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the private profession, legal assistance providers and the courts. Conduct a legal practice as other priorities permit.
About you
You are an experienced legal professional and confident leader who can balance managing a busy team with conducting your own legal practice, to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery. You bring strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality legal services to clients and the community.
You excel at guiding and supporting lawyers and administrative staff, ensuring work is efficient, compliant, and aligned with organisational priorities. You are skilled at building constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including the courts, private practitioners, and legal assistance providers.
You are strategic and organised, able to plan services, monitor performance data, and drive improvements in service delivery and office operations. You communicate clearly, manage change effectively, and foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
You enjoy mentoring others, supporting professional development, and contributing to a capable and engaged workforce. In a high‑volume environment, you remain calm, solutions‑focused, and able to navigate competing demands while maintaining high standards of service.

be able to provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us

hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
