Solo Cook / Chef-Outback Queensland
We are seeking an experienced Solo Cook / Chef for this busy venue located in Outback Queensland.
The successful candidate will have will extensive previous experience and have a passion for making great food. You will bring your leadership capabilities and stock control and menu design skills to the role.
Outside of work, you can explore the rich town history, and enjoy river kayaking, fishing, swimming. The town offers many things to see and do on your days off, with both great culture and beautiful nature on display.
Immediate Start
Pay Details:
$70,000 Salary (neg on experience + possible bonus scheme)
Accommodation + Duty Meals $100 per week (own room - shared staff house)
Minimum six month commitment
Duties:
Management of the kitchen in a hands on capacity (lunch and dinner - six days per week)
Monitoring stock and stock control, ordering and stock takes
Planning of Menus and specials (providing some pub favourites but also quality restaurant food and catering. Developing a menu of entree, main, desserts as well as a limited takeaway menu)
Cater for special functions, events, tour groups etc
Maintain a clean kitchen adhering to food safety
Monitoring quality of all dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, ensuring the food quality is consistent to a high standard
Ensuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety regulations
Work at fast pace and be flexible with client requests
Other duties as required
Candidate Requirements:
Passionate about food and the quality and presentation of their meals
Professional with high standards and expectations for yourself and others
Able to function under pressure
Committed and reliable and have a proven record of working in busy kitchens
Able to work autonomously or part of a team
Lunch and dinner service Monday to Saturday
Have previous remote area experience an advantage
