Job Description

The opportunity

We’re seeking a Solution Architect to design solutions that support our digital transformation journey, guided by our established roadmap. Your focus will be on defining robust, scalable, and pragmatic solutions using and expanding existing platforms—such as our CRM, Student Information Systems, Learning Portal, and Financial System—to deliver measurable business value.

This role is pivotal in translating our digital transformation roadmap into actionable solutions, leveraging and enhancing our current systems to meet evolving business needs. You'll collaborate closely with project managers, functional leads, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure solutions align with objectives, and provide seamless integration between systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Practicing a pragmatic, "just enough" approach to architecture and technical design, prioritising outcomes over extensive documentation, and being agile enough to pivot as business needs evolve.
Designing end-to-end solutions that leverage and enhance existing core platforms (CRM, Student Information System, Learning Portal, Financial System).
Developing solutions that effectively integrate and expand our current systems to support digital transformation initiatives.
Ensuring solutions deliver measurable business outcomes and enable data-driven decisions.
Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders for clarity, alignment, and solution buy-in.
Championing best practices in system expansion, enhancement, and integration.

Desired Skills And Experience

Who you are:

You’re a Solution Architect passionate about using technology to drive digital transformation through thoughtful solution design. You thrive in collaborative environments focused on achieving business outcomes. If designing innovative solutions that leverage and expand core business systems to deliver digital transformation resonates with you, we’d love to connect.

What You'll Bring

Proven Solution Architecture experience, specifically in enhancing and expanding core business systems.
Strong expertise in integration patterns, middleware technology, platform expansion, cloud technologies, and solution architecture methodologies.
Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, bridging business goals and technical capabilities.

Why join us?

At Skills Group, we’re driven by our vital signs: Joy, Manaakitanga, Grow, and Bold. We value innovation, knowledge, and shared success, creating a workplace where you’ll feel empowered to make a meaningful global impact.

You’ll Enjoy

Health and Wellbeing: Medical insurance, EAP support, and annual flu vaccinations.
Flexible Work and Leave: Flexible working arrangements, birthday leave, and extended bereavement leave.
Financial Benefits: 5% employer contributions to SuperLife & Kiwisaver and a $500 talent referral scheme.
