The opportunity - Te tūranga
The Solutions Architect will work with the business playing a pivotal role delivering architecture solutions that align with our strategic direction. This role is focused on solution delivery working with stakeholders technology teams, development squads and vendors to drive delivery.
In the role you will be producing architecture roadmaps and reference architecture to align with TVNZ's technology strategy and documenting fit-for-purpose solutions architecture design (Functional and Non-Functional) with business value justification.
You will be working with various stakeholders, managing expectations and integrating updated specifications into the broader system architecture. You will ensure the architecture addresses key attributes and creating & evaluating proof of concept to assess architectural feasibility. The right person will also be familiar with Cloud Adoption Framework (5Rs), experienced with software system assessment process and tooling, and strong integration experience.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract

To be successful in this role, we are looking for
Proven experience operating at a solutions architecture level and able to articulate where you have designed scalable, secure and resilient systems.
Experience working on integrated solutions preferably within the media industry; in a context of video streaming and audience enrichment domains.
Proven experience in AWS and Azure Cloud solution design and services (such as API Gateway, Lambda, CloudFormation, VPC, SNS, SQS, RDS, Azure Data factory, ADLS, Logic App, Azure Functions and other services).
Familiar with Cloud Adoption Framework (5Rs) for migration strategies.
Experience of data centric solutions to drive decisions and actions.
Be skilled in Container and Serverless architecture.
Someone able to apply well architected and security principles to solutions.
Proficient in micro-service architecture with RESTFul APIs and design patterns.
Experience with API modelling and related tooling including experience with at least one of the OOP languages (Java, C# or node js).
Knowledge of cloud economics, TCO assessment, and cost optimization.
Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
Experience in Agile/Scrum practice working in a Squad based model.
Solid experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Experience in the Media industry ideally with cross platform integration (linear and OTT, VOD) and content delivery (advantageous).
Experience in advertising technology solutions including google ad manager (GAM) (advantageous).
