Job Description
Department: Development Team
Company Overview
Six S Partners is a recognized leader in Epicor ERP implementations, customizations, and management consulting. As Epicor’s “Global Partner of the Year” multiple years and a “Certified Platinum Partner,” we deliver tailored ERP solutions to mid-market companies worldwide.
Role Summary
The Solution Architect is part of Six S Partners’ Development Team and acts as the key link between our customers and our developers. You will lead discovery and scoping conversations, determine whether requirements can be met through Epicor’s standard functionality or require customization, and translate outcomes into clear design documents and user stories. You’ll also own validation (testing delivered work against the design) then produce the customer-facing documentation that explains what was built and how to use it.
If you love Epicor, enjoy solving complex problems, working directly with customers, and take pride in reading and writing excellent documentation, this role will fit you well.
Key Outcomes
•Customer needs are clearly defined, validated, and translated into build-ready requirements
•The right approach is chosen (Epicor standard vs customization) and documented
•Developers have unambiguous user stories and acceptance criteria to build from
•Delivered work is thoroughly tested and meets expectations before release
•Customers receive clear documentation that explains the delivered functionality
•Agile delivery stays organized, predictable, and transparent
Responsibilities
•Lead discovery/scoping calls to understand requirements, constraints, and success criteria
•Evaluate Epicor’s out-of-the-box capabilities vs customization; recommend the best path forward
•Write high-quality design documents and user stories that customers and developers can both understand
•Define acceptance criteria and ensure requirements are testable and complete
•Own backlog creation and refinement, sprint planning, and coordination of sprint ceremonies (review, retro, etc.)
•Test delivered functionality against the design; provide clear feedback to developers to close gaps
•Produce customer-facing documentation (how it works, how to use it, what changed)
•Partner closely with developers and internal stakeholders to remove ambiguity and keep delivery moving
Skills and Qualifications
Must have:
•Strong Epicor ERP knowledge, especially operations and/or finance modules (5 years experience)
•Hands-on experience with Epicor tools (BAQs, BPMs, Functions, AppStudio)
•Excellent writing skills and a genuine interest in reading/writing documentation daily
•Strong analytical mindset, able to turn messy requirements into clear, testable user stories
•Comfortable leading customer conversations, asking sharp questions, and clarifying scope
•Experience running agile delivery (backlog, refinement, sprint planning, story writing)
•Strong organizational skills in situations that are fast paced with high workloads.
Nice to have
•SSRS reporting experience and related Microsoft technologies
•C# development experience
•Jira experience
Why This Role
You’ll have real ownership: you help shape what gets built, you validate that it works, and you document it so customers succeed. You’ll work in a collaborative dev environment where good requirements and good documentation are treated as core to quality delivery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
