A Chef de Partie, also known as a Line Cook, works to prepare and cook food at a restaurant. Their duties include preparing food, making sauces, and placing food on plates in a visually appealing way.
A Sous Chef is a professional responsible for ensuring that nothing goes wrong in the kitchen. From ordering ingredients to keeping an accurate inventory list and ensuring cleanliness everywhere they go, they provide the Head Chef with everything they need to create dishes for customers.
Commis chefs are novice chefs who work to support a chef de partie in a commercial kitchen. They perform cooking, cleaning, delivery, and other support duties as instructed by the chef de partie. Commis chefs help ensure that a kitchen's operations run smoothly.
