Want to live and work in paradise as a Spa Therapist?
The Bay of Many Coves is an internationally recognized 5-Star luxury resort in Arthur’s Bay, a 30 minute water taxi ride up the Queen Charlotte Sound from Picton. We are looking for an exceptional and outgoing Spa Therapist to join our award-winning team. This is a full-time live on site position, with a long term hire preferred. This role is ongoing, and can be until at least April 2026 for the right candidate.
It may be that you’ve been looking to use your proven professional experience in a new environment - and this seaside sea change can offer just that, with an attractive remuneration package including, staff perks and a competitive salary and accommodation provided given the nature of our remoteness of our location, meaning you will be required to live on site.
You will already be an exceptional therapist with a full treatment repertoire including massage, facials, and we are open to working with you with any other aspects of wellness you may be trained in. You will be working in your own well equipped therapy suite with your own personal living studio adjoining it. We will work together to produce a Spa menu that works to your skillset to provide to best service possible.
During the Summer months most of your days will be filled with treatments, but it is expected that during times when the day spa is quiet, you will assist the resort team in other areas of the property. As we are currently in the low season, this will predominantly involve covering the reception/front office area, as this offers ongoing work even on occasion where we had no guests in house. As we get busier with summer approaching, guest demand may require you to assist with housekeeping, food & beverage or working in the gardens.
To be successful you will have a strong willingness to learn, and offer an exemplary standard of customer service. While covering reception your key responsibility is to manage the front desk confidently to deal with enquires in a timely and professional manner from guests as well as by email and phone, as well as manage bookings and process reservations. You will be polite, confident, well-presented.
Whilst experience in Spa and massage therapy is essential, prior admin/reception experience is highly preferred, but you will receive full training. To succeed in a guest facing role such as reception, previous front of house roles are desired, and being able to demonstrate a high level of computer literacy would be required as well as the ability to multitask and prioritise.
You will be joining a small and highly engaged team, so it’s important you are a team player willing to pitch in. You will also be comfortable working and living in a remote location, happily taking advantage of the many outdoor activities at our doorstep including kayaking, swimming and hiking.
