Responsibilities
Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and curriculum development tailored to the needs of individual students.
Monitor students in the classroom, lunchroom, playground, and on field trips
Support students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and accommodations.
Help maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, encouraging student participation and engagement.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual performance and areas needing improvement.
Collaborate with educators to develop strategies that promote literacy education.
Help students achieve specific IEP goals and collect data on performance.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to working with diverse learners.
Education/Certification:
A high school diploma, plus proof of passing a state-approved paraprofessional assessment. or an Associate's degree (preferred)
Candidates will need to pass a background clearance process, including obtaining an Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card and CPR/First Aid certification (required).

Experience
Strong communication, patience, and the ability to assist with academic and behavioral goals in a classroom setting.
Candidates have two years’ previous experience with behavioral support in Special Education.
Experience working with students with disabilities, including familiarity with IEPs and behavior management techniques.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage classroom routines effectively while fostering a supportive learning atmosphere.
Background in special education, including working with children with autism or developmental disabilities, is highly valued.
