Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Special Education Teacher. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for teaching and assisting students with special needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans, communicating with parents and caregivers, and collaborating with other professionals to provide a holistic approach to treatment.
Qualifications
• Excellent knowledge of disabilities, special education, and teaching practices
• Experience and/or knowledge of middle school education
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field(D.Ed. is also accepted)
• Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a holistic approach to treatment
• Experience working with children with autism is preferred
• Training in evidence-based therapies and interventions such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), and Social Stories is preferred
• Licensure and/or certification in special education is preferred
