As a TA at our May Center School in Wilmington, you'll be an essential part of our mission to support individuals ages 3-21 with A utism and developmental disabilities in the classroom in achieving their goals and aspirations. From providing compassionate care to facilitating personalized assistance and engaging in skill-building activities, while working with students and using the proven methods of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you'll be instrumental in enhancing their quality of life.

• Collaborative Teamwork : Partner closely with lead teachers to bring individualized educational plans (IEPs) to life, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
• Direct Support: Provide hands-on assistance with personal care tasks and expertly manage behavioral crises, offering unwavering support to students during classroom activities to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Positive Communication: Harness the power of positive behavior support strategies to cultivate essential social skills, enhance communication abilities, and promote independence among students.
• Cultivating a Supportive Atmosphere: Cultivate a warm, supportive atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to embrace their journey of learning and growth.
• Documentation and Reporting: Thoroughly document student progress and maintain open lines of communication with parents, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring everyone is informed and involved in each student's educational journey.

• Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older to be eligible for employment
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• Driver’s license: Valid and current U.S. driver’s license required
• Availability: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm (some flexibility available) . FT and PT opportunities. This is a year-round program, including summers.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds
• Qualities: Reliability, compassion, and patience, coupled with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in people’s lives
• Adaptability: Ability to adjust to varying needs, preferences, and communication styles of those we support
• Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to changing environments and respond effectively to unexpected situations
