Title: Special Education Teacher ( Intellectually Disabled)
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, IndiaDescription
IICD Hyderabad's Ideal School For Disabled is looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our team of educators. You will be responsible for teaching groups of students with mild or moderate intellectual disabilities. You'll modify the existing curriculum on basic subjects (e.g. math, writing) to meet each student's learning requirements.
To meet the learning needs of each student, you will modify the existing curriculum in fundamental subjects (such as math and writing) and create individualised lesson plans that are suited to their particular requirements.
Additionally, you will talk with parents and the support staff about significant issues that could affect students' progress.
In the end, you'll encourage and assist kids in reaching significant learning milestones.
Responsibilities
Find engaging activities to teach skills (such as drawing and group activity), manage classroom crises and settle disputes, prepare students for the transition to the next grade, and let parents know about their children's performance and any potential issues.Work with the support staff (such as school counsellors and speech therapists) to develop comprehensive intervention plans;
Requirements
A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A valid state special education certificate. A Graduate in Special Education; Post graduation is a plus. Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role. Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies. Experience working with children who have a wide range of disabilities.
