Special Educator Job Description
• Collaborate with the support staff (e.g. school counsellors, speech therapists and Occupational therapists) to create holistic intervention plans
• Assess students abilities and craft teaching plans
• Monitor childrens behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
• Find engaging activities to teach skills (e.g. drawing and theatre drama)
• Plan and perform informal assessments
• IEP Definition (self and other team members)
• Prepare aids / resources as required
• Periodic review of Progress with IEP
• Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans
• Coach/mentor other professionals who work with children with disabilities
Desired Candidate Profile
• Should have experience teaching students with Learning Disabilities
• B.Ed (Special Education)/M.Ed, Diploma in Special Education
• 1+ years’ experience as a special educator
• Excellent communication skills
